SAC My Metrics: build a personal KPI watchlist on your SAP Analytics Cloud home screen

If you keep opening three different stories every morning just to check the same handful of numbers, My Metrics is the SAP Analytics Cloud feature you've been missing. Introduced with the QRC4 2025 release, it lets you pull the KPIs that matter most into one personal watchlist — no IT request, no new story to build.

What My Metrics actually is

My Metrics is a module in SAP Analytics Cloud: a personalized, curated collection of the metrics you care about, gathered from different stories and models into one place. Each entry is a metric card showing the value, its variance and Smart Insights, and you can jump straight back to the source story from any card when you need the full analysis. It's self-service monitoring — you build your own cockpit without involving the IT department.

Where to find it

You reach My Metrics as a module from the left side panel (the new side menu). You can also surface it right on your home screen: open your user settings → Home Screen and enable the My Metrics card. After that, the KPIs you've chosen greet you the moment you log in — alongside the other home-screen cards like Favorites, Calendar Highlights and Data Change Insights.

How to add a metric

Metrics are created from your existing content, so there's nothing to model from scratch:

— Open a story that already shows the KPI you want to track.
— From the relevant chart or value, choose the option to add it to My Metrics (create a metric card).
— Pick the chart type for the card's detailed visualization during creation — that's how the metric will render when you select it.
— The new card appears under Your Metrics, the collection of everything you've created or that has been shared with you.

Organize and read your list

In Your Metrics you manage the collection: refresh the data, change how variances are displayed (absolute vs relative), sort the cards, or delete the ones you no longer need. Selecting any card opens a detailed visualization so you can look closer without leaving the module.

Share with colleagues

You can share an individual metric or a whole list with other users, and decide whether they can only view or also edit. When you share, you can optionally send an email notification; recipients also get an in-app notification. It's a lightweight way to align a team on the same numbers without exporting anything.

Get updates without opening SAC

A newer enhancement lets you subscribe to scheduled metric reports: define a recurrence and receive curated KPI updates by email, so decision-makers stay informed with a push-based approach rather than having to log in and check. (Availability follows the official SAP Analytics roadmap, so confirm it in your tenant.)

When it helps — and when it doesn't

My Metrics shines for personal, at-a-glance monitoring: your top KPIs, their variances, in one screen. It's not a replacement for a full analytic story or a governed executive dashboard — those still do the deep analysis and the polished layouts.
